Rhode Island Alligator

Rhode Island is on the alert for a pet alligator that was released into a pond.

The alligator hasn't been captured yet, but residents of the area have been alerted of it's presence and warned not to swim in the private property pond.

This isn't the first time a pet alligator has been released in the area and officials are working on catching it.

11-Foot Snake Found in Indiana

Another large snake was found in the wild where it shouldn't be - this time in Indiana.

A family was kayaking  on the Wildcat Creek and stumbled upon a large Burmese python slithering through some trees.  Authorities were contacted but the decision to kill the snake, who was minding his own business and could have been sent to an exotic animal sanctuary, was made.

Snakes Found in Garbage

In Utah, two snakes were found in a trash bin in plastic totes.

Someone apparently threw the snakes away, but animal services recovered them by climbing into the bin.  The South American boa constrictor was unfortunately found dead from heat and suffocation, but the red-tail boa is said to be in good health.

Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty for Burning Cavy

In New York, a 24 year old woman was charged with arson earlier this month for setting fire to a residence in the city of Maryland.

While investigating the scene, a guinea pig cage with cavy remains was found inside the burnt house.  Apparently the poor pig was trapped and got caught in the blazes.
